Pro Tools

Avid Technology (previously Digidesign) developed Pro Tools, a DAW for Windows and macOS. It’s utilised for music composition, sound for picture (sound design, audio post-production, and mixing), and sound recording, editing, and mastering.Pro Tools works independently and with external A/D converters and PCIe cards with DSPs (DSP). The DSP adds processing power to the host computer for real-time effects like reverb, equalisation, and compression and lower latency audio performance. Pro Tools is a digital audio workstation that can perform the functions of a multitrack tape recorder and mixing console, as well as non-destructive editing, track compositing with multiple playlists, time compression and expansion, pitch shifting, and faster-than-real-time mixdown.
