Pinkerton Agency Guide to Catch a Ripper in Shadows of Doubt

Looking for a job that lets you live out your darkest impulses? Join Pinkerton’s National Detective Agency! Here’s a quick, dirty guide to catching a killer.

What You’ll Need:

  • Freshly murdered corpses
  • A strong moral compass (or lack thereof)
  • Truncheon (a must-have!)
  • 2+ pairs of handcuffs

Steps to Catching the Ripper:

1. Get to the Murder Scene

Hurry before the evidence decays. Examine the corpse quickly to collect fingerprints and clues.

2. Handle the Guards

Evade or neutralize any cops in the way. Use your truncheon and handcuffs as needed to maintain control.

3. Gather Evidence

Collect prints from the victim, weapon, and nearby objects. Check the victim’s wallet for identification and rob them if you find cash. Computers left on can give you valuable info.

4. Use the Address Book

Grab the victim’s address book and pin it to your evidence board.

5. Break into City Hall

Head to the Enforcer division. If the door’s locked, break it down and find a computer.

6. Match the Prints

Find a computer with no one around. Print out citizen records from the address book until you match the fingerprint on the weapon.

7. Identify the Killer

Once a match is made, you’ll have the killer’s name and photo. Optionally, scan the weapon’s fingerprints and pin them to your board.

8. Bust Down the Door

Go to the killer’s home, break in, and use your truncheon. Enjoy the chaos as you make your arrest.

9. Rob the Criminal

Take everything they own while taunting them. Don’t forget to smack them around a little for good measure.

10. Turn in the Evidence

Head to City Hall and submit your case. Job done, and the Pinkerton Agency will be proud.

Additional Notes:

If no match is found, wait for the killer to strike again. Repeat the process until the killer makes a mistake. We’re paid to catch killers, not prevent murders.

P.S.

Once you’re done, celebrate the case with 15 cocktails at the local bar. You’ve earned it!
